Here’s an article about the Proof Of Concept : How to change the license of NFR Nakivo 2 Processor Sockets to be unlimited Processor Sockets.

1. Nakivo Backup and Replication with NFR is a free version of the software to create a Virtual Backup and Replication Server are created for 2 Socket Processor License on VMWare vSphere.

License of Nakivo Backup and Replication stored in a database file named product01.h2.db put it in the folder :

C:\Program Files(x86)\NAKIVO Backup & Replication\userdata\db

2. Before we do edit the contents of the database, make sure we ‘ve stop the service Nakivo first.

4. Now run Nakivo service and access via the web browser and see if the status has changed License to 8 Socket Processor.

5. Then stop again Nakivo service, then open and edit the file product01.h2.db with an application Hexa-editor and search and replace text SOCKET_COUNT processor value “8” to “99”.

6. Now run Nakivo service and access via the web browser and see if the status has changed to License 99 Processor Socket.

7. After successfully changed the license to 99 Socket Processor, now we stop again Nakivo service then open and edit the file product01.h2.db with Hexa-editor and search and replace text SOCKET_COUNT processor value “8” with text null.

10. Now, we’ll add a vSphere Server with 4 Processor Socket. We ‘ll analize about functionallity of Nakivo Unlimited License.

### Ok, it enough of this POC, first explanation may be beneficial and better protection of Nakivo License at next version.
